Hedge laying...
Pete has been hedgelaying for nearly 20 years, having been taught by Nelson Russell – a many-times national champion hedgelayer. Pete recently won a class in the Blackdown Hills Hedge Competition.
A keen advocate for hedges, he has been on the committee of the Surrey Hedge Group and is currently Chairman of the Somerset Hedge Group.
Pete cuts to several different styles including South of England, Devon, Dorset, Blackdown Hills, Midlands and Lancashire and is happy to take on contracts in the Devon, Somerset and Dorset areas.
Hedgelaying is an important management technique for rejuvenating overgrown or gappy hedges, for a description of the process see the National Hedgelaying Society website .
