Pete is an experienced trainer with ‘Training The Trainer’ qualifications.

He is a very experienced hedgelaying trainer having trained hundreds of people from organisations such as the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, the RSPB, Hestercombe House and several Local Authorities.

He also runs training courses on green woodworking, charcoal burning and other aspects of woodland crafts

Hedge Laying
Hedgerow management is an important issue in the countryside, By attending a course with Pete you will have an understanding of hedge ecology, the tools used to manage a hedge and how to use them!



Green wood working
Learn important skills in how to use green wood to make furniture and other items using the bodgers tools including a pole lathe and shave horse



Charcoal making
Learn how to construct a kiln, prepare the wood and cook your own charcoal



Coppicing
Learn about coppice rotation, the ecology of coppice woodlands and coppice products such as walking sticks, bean poles and wood for making furniture
